Shanti Heated Classes

Shanti Heated Classes are heated with Infrared Therapeutic Commercial Grade Heaters. Commercial grade heaters deliver safe heating waves in the yoga studio space. Because infrared heat is directly warming the muscles and deeper tissues, it offers your body a greater range of motion. A study at Auburn University compared athletes stretching in a training room to how far they were able to stretch in an infrared sauna. Researchers concluded participants were able to stretch as much as three times their normal amount in the infrared environment. This will allow yoga students to open up, melt deep into the poses and gain confidence in their yoga practice.

Heated Classes Benefits

Heated Classes are ideal for more flexibility, weight loss, increasing blood flow from superficial to deep tissue ligaments, tendons.  Helping to reduce inflammation.

Please consult with your physician if yoga, heated or unheated is appropriate for you. As yoga teachers, we are here to guide you in yoga poses/practice. We do not diagnose or claim to know what you can or can not do. Listen to your body. No one else knows best what you are feeling or what your limitations are.

Hot 26

Consisting of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, Hot 26 follows the Bikram Yoga positions and sequencing to focus 100% of the human body, working from the inside out. We are not a Bikram studio but believe in the power of the sequence. The 26 yoga poses invigorate by stimulating the organs, glands, and nerves; each pose helps to move fresh oxygen through the body. Continued practice of the Bikram 26 yoga sequence/poses strengthens, heals, and balances the human body while preventing future illness and injury. Best of all, this pose series is suitable for yogis of any shape and size, at any age and experience level. As a matter of fact, if you can take the heat and are a beginner we highly recommend this class! Yo-Pilates

We believe in complementing methodologies, hence YO- PILATES was born at Shanti Yoga. We are bringing you the best of two worlds. Yo - Pilates is a one-hour session structured by mindfulness and breathwork at the beginning of the class followed by a floor pilates sequence and ending with a well-deserved rest/savasana period.

Pilates is a set of exercises designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, and posture, and enhance mental awareness. It is great to train your body’s core and muscular balance. You work with slow and controlled movements.

One of the most obvious similarities between Pilates and yoga is that they are both body/mind disciplines. The intent of both is to bring the body and mind together in a way that enhances awareness and elevates the overall life experience of the practitioner. Any body/mind integrative practice can evolve into a personal spiritual path.

Intensity Level 3

Hot Yoga

This class is about stepping into your mat, releasing expectations, and just arriving to be present ( in the zone). It’s Hot Yoga, which will be given in an infrared heated environment to help you release stress and tightness. In yoga, we practice “aparigraha-the art of practicing “non-attachement”. Aparigraha is the last Yama of Pantanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga. In plain western language, it’s not about the destination but about the journey. As you move through the yoga practice/poses “Let your concern be with the action alone and not with the fruits of action” The teacher might change, the style of class might change the only consistent thing is you, your mat, and the heat of the class. The styles of yoga in this class will range from Bikyas, Hot 26, Vinyasa.

Intensity level 3.5 to 5 depending on the class
