"For a long time my daughters have been trying to get me to go to yoga, saying that it would help me control different issues in my life. Stress, anxiety and depression kind of took over and I always had an excuse not to go. I would say, I don't have the time, didn't want to go alone, or it cost to much, but most of all I knew that it was my confidence level.

For me there was this big fear of being judged and not being able to do it. I met up with an old friend one day and she told me that she started going to yoga, so I asked if I could go with her. That was one of the best decisions I could of made.

From the very first class I took with Norma, I was hooked. She has a special gift that she passes on through her teachings that just fills my soul. My outlook on life has changed so much that I see everything different now and know it's ok to be different.

I take care of myself more and the best part is that I am a different person. My family likes the new me! Norma makes every class she teaches so much fun, the workouts are awesome, and has taught me to let go of things that do not serve me. Norma is very dedicated to her practice and passes that to each one of us. I only started practicing yoga about 5 months ago, but plan to make it a lifetime commitment . My only regret is that I did not start my journey earlier!!

Thank you Norma, you are awesome!!  Love & Namaste."

"I am a highly motivated and dedicated person with a positive outlook on everything life has to offer. I had a car accident back in July 2015. I had a herniated disc in my lower back which required me to have therapy and even epidural injections. That seem to work for a while but noticed that I still had pain and stiffness in my lower back. I didn’t want to depend on that type of treatment for the rest of my life…so I started to look for ulterior methods. In searching for that, Yoga was suggested many times. So for my 2017 New Year’s Resolution…trying Yoga was one. I've been practicing ever since.

Most people think that in order to practice Yoga, you have to be flexible. They see the pictures online and are intimidated by them…I must admit, I was one of those. What we don’t see is how long and how dedicated those people are. I  would recommend yoga to everyone, just give it a try. You might be amazed as to what our bodies can do. There is nothing like attending your first Yoga class and walking out thinking about when your next class will be.  Having great instructors, listening to your body is always going to give you positive results.

I currently practice Yoga about 4-5 times a week. I really like heated Yoga classes. I truly enjoy Bikyasa right now…although I enjoy practicing any style thrown at me. I started practicing Yoga on January 2017 at Shanti Yoga.  I have seen many beneficial changes as I have continued to practice Yoga. 1) There are physical changes like: I rarely have lower back pain, which in turn has also helped me get back to one of my passions, playing soccer. I have lost about 17 lbs. 2)There have been mental changes like: I notice that my mind seems to be clearer with less stress. I have learned to let the little things not bother me and focus what at the present moment.

I remember the first time I was laying in savasana after my practice had ended. My body was tired and my mind was trying to process everything that had just happened in my class. When all of sudden I let my mind go and let my breath come back to its natural rhythm. When all of a sudden I had the moment of clarity...and out of body experience. It was a truly remarkable feeling of euphoria…and as our instructor brought us back from savasana, at that moment I was hooked!"
